Foreclosure Loan Counselor

Hourly Rate: $11.00 to $15.00 per
hour - commensurate on experience
Job Description: In conjunction with
guidelines set forth by the Montebello Housing
Development Corporation and the National Council of
La Raza, the Foreclosure Prevention Counselor will
provide counseling services to individuals seeking
assistance on mortgage delinquency and foreclosure
prevention. The primary responsibility of the
counselor is to analyze the customer’s financial
situation. This includes but is not limited to,
credit counseling, financial management and
researching/negotiating with his/her servicer to
identify a pre-foreclosure option. Proficient in
data entry, internet research, modifications, and
Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.

The Foreclosure Counselor will have the:

Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree
preferred. Two years of mortgage experience required
with hands on experience with credit and loan
documents. Counselor must have excellent oral,
written, and visual communication skills and
experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office-Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Occasionally
standing for long periods of time. Some lifting
required (20-30 lbs.). Ability to work evenings and
weekends. Must also be prompt, reliable, well
organized, and able to work overtime as
needed. Flexibility with working hours is required.
Positive, get the job done, professional demeanor is
required.

Montebello
Housing Development Corporation is a private non-profit
Affordable Housing program and services provider. The
Corporation provides housing related services to the
